A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

 

proposing an amendment to the constitution of arizona; amending article IV, part 2, section 23, constitution of arizona; relating to public officers.

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

1.  Article IV, part 2, section 23, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be amended as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:

START_STATUTE23.  Passes and purchase of transportation by public officers; inapplication to national guard

Section 23.  It shall not be lawful for any person holding public office in this state to accept or use a pass or to purchase transportation from any railroad or other corporation, other than as such transportation may be purchased by the general public; Provided, except that this shall not apply to members of the national guard of Arizona traveling under orders.  The legislature shall enact laws to enforce this provision. END_STATUTE

2.  The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
