SENATE BILL 1721

 

 

An Act

 

providing for the appointment of the ombudsman-citizens aide.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appointment of ombudsman-citizens aide

Pursuant to section 41-1373, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, Joanne MacDonnell is appointed ombudsman-citizens aide for a term ending from and after June 30, 2027, subject to the terms and conditions prescribed by law.

Sec. 2. Requirements for appointment

Pursuant to section 41-1373, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, this act requires approval of the appointment by roll call vote of at least two-thirds of the membership of each house of the legislature and the approval of the governor or, if the governor vetoes this act, this act requires the subsequent approval of the appointment by roll call vote of at least three-fourths of the membership of each house of the legislature.

Sec. 3. Emergency

This act is an emergency measure that is necessary to preserve the public peace, health or safety and is operative immediately as provided by law.
