An Act

 

amending title 36, chapter 4, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-425.09; amending title 36, chapter 18, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2068; relating to residential treatment.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 36, chapter 4, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-425.09, to read:

START_STATUTE36-425.09. Behavioral health residential facilities; client discharge; transportation

A behavioral health residential facility shall inquire, both verbally and in writing, whether a client wants to be transported to the client's place of residence after discharge from the behavioral health residential facility.  The client's wishes regarding transportation shall be documented on a form prescribed by the department, signed by the client and retained in the client's medical record. The behavioral health residential facility shall ensure safe and reliable transportation, as determined by the department, for a client who wishes to be transported to the client's place of residence on discharge. Sec. 2. Title 36, chapter 18, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2068, to read:

START_STATUTE36-2068. Sober living homes; client discharge; transportation

A sober living home shall inquire, both verbally and in writing, whether a client wants to be transported to the client's place of residence after discharge from the sober living home.  The client's wishes regarding transportation shall be documented on a form prescribed by the department of health services, signed by the client and retained in the client's record.  The sober living home shall ensure safe and reliable transportation, as determined by the department of health services, for a client who wishes to be transported to the client's place of residence on discharge.
