AN ACT
Amending title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2906.02; relating to the Arizona health care cost containment system.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2906.02, to read:
36-2906.02. Dental care services; separate contractor
Beginning January 1, 2013, the administration shall prepare and issue a request for proposals, including a proposed contract format, at least once every five years to two or more appropriately licensed and qualified dental health plans, which the administration shall compensate on a prepaid or a capitated basis for the delivery of all dental care services. The contract shall specify that the dental health plans compensate the providers on a fee‑for‑service basis. The contract shall also specify the administrative requirements, the delivery of specific dental services provided pursuant to this chapter and subcontracting requirements.
