AN ACT
amending section 41-1234.01, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the registration and regulation of lobbyists.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Section 41-1234.01, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
41-1234.01. Contributions prohibited; bundling prohibited
A. While registered under this article, a principal, a public body, a lobbyist, a designated public lobbyist or an authorized public lobbyist shall not make or promise to make a campaign contribution to or solicit or promise to solicit campaign contributions for:
1. A member of the legislature when the legislature is in regular session.
2. The governor when the legislature is in regular session or when regular session legislation is pending executive approval or veto.
B. Subsection A only prohibits campaign contributions by principals, lobbyists, designated public lobbyists or authorized public lobbyists and the solicitation of campaign contributions by principals or lobbyists during any time that the legislature is in regular session but does not prohibit principals or lobbyists from raising monies for any other purpose during the regular session of the legislature.
B. A principal, a public body, a lobbyist, a designated public lobbyist or an authorized public lobbyist shall not hold, receive, collect or solicit five or more otherwise lawful campaign contributions for the same candidate for public office.
