SENATE BILL 1170

 

 

 

AN ACT

 

amending section 28-4805, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to abandoned vehicles.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Section 28-4805, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:

START_STATUTE28-4805.  Towing company; reimbursement

If a vehicle is abandoned pursuant to section 28‑4802 on national forest, state park, bureau of land management or state trust land and a fee is collected by the department, the towing company that towed the abandoned vehicle off of the land, if still in business, is entitled to receive one hundred dollars from twenty percent of the fee collected as a partial reimbursement of the costs incurred by the towing company. Sec. 2.  Legislative intent

It is the intent of the Legislature that beginning on the effective date of this act the department of transportation charge an abandoned vehicle fee pursuant to section 28‑4802, Arizona Revised Statutes, that is sufficient to ensure that reimbursement made pursuant to section 28‑4805, Arizona Revised Statutes, as amended by this act, do not negatively impact the abandoned vehicle administration monies collected pursuant to section 28‑4802, Arizona Revised Statutes.
