A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

designating March 18, 2013 as first responders recognition day in arizona.

(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE)

Whereas, every day in Arizona, law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical and service workers respond bravely and without thought of their own personal safety to provide various emergency medical, protection, rescue and recovery services to the citizens of this state; and

Whereas, these brave individuals literally face the unknown in responding to a call and encounter incredible risks to their own lives and well-being in order to enforce laws and to maintain safe and orderly communities in which to live and work; and

Whereas, first responders exemplify exceptional dedication to their work and display great heroism and selflessness in countless ways; and

Whereas, each year, dozens of first responders in the United States are tragically killed or injured in the line of duty; and

Whereas, first responders of every kind are true heroes to whom we owe an extraordinary debt of gratitude for their tremendous service and their commitment to the highest ideals of public service.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:

That the Members of the Legislature proclaim March 18, 2013 as First Responders Recognition Day in Arizona and pay tribute to the first responders of this state, both past and present, for their extraordinary dedication to preserving and protecting the public peace and the safety of all citizens.
