A concurrent RESOLUTION
expressing support for h.r. 5360 or other federal legislation prohibiting covid-19 mandates.

Whereas, the freedom to choose not to be vaccinated or to be free from penalties for failing to be vaccinated is an inherent right of all individuals; and
Whereas, in September 2021, Arizona's Congressman Andy Biggs introduced H.R. 5360, known as the "Freedom from Mandates Act"; and
Whereas, this legislation would nullify certain federal executive orders requiring COVID-19 vaccines among federal employees and contractors; and
Whereas, this legislation would further prohibit the United States Secretary of Labor from issuing a rule requiring employers to mandate COVID-19 vaccines or testing of unvaccinated employees; and
Whereas, this legislation would further prohibit the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services from requiring a health care provider to mandate vaccination of employees against COVID-19 or require testing of unvaccinated employees in order for the health care provider to participate in the Medicare or Medicaid program.
Therefore
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:
That the Members of the Legislature express support for H.R. 5360 or any similar legislation that preserves the right of individuals to choose to remain unvaccinated against COVID-19.
