AN ACT

 

Amending title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2903.08; relating to the Arizona health care cost containment system.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2903.08, to read:

START_STATUTE36-2903.08.  Trauma and emergency services; federal matching monies; rules

A.  The director shall take all actions necessary to obtain federal matching medicaid funding of monies deposited into the trauma and emergency services fund established by section 36-2903.07.  The director shall deposit all monies received pursuant to this section in the fund for use as prescribed by section 36-2903.07.

B.  The director shall adopt rules necessary to implement this section. END_STATUTE

Sec. 2.  Exemption from rule making

For the purposes of this act, the Arizona health care cost containment system administration is exempt from the rule making requirements of title 41, chapter 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, except that the director shall provide public notice and an opportunity for public comment on proposed rules at least thirty days before a rule is adopted or amended.
