AN ACT
providing for a special audit of the refugee resettlement process in this state.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Special audit; refugee resettlement process; delayed repeal
A. The auditor general shall conduct a special audit pursuant to section 41-1279.03, Arizona Revised Statutes, of the refugee resettlement process in this state under the federal refugee resettlement program (8 United States Code sections 1521 through 1525).
B. The audit shall review all of the following:
1. The number of refugees that have been resettled in this state in the last thirty‑six months pursuant to the refugee resettlement program.
2. The amount of state monies that has been spent on refugee resettlement pursuant to the refugee resettlement program.
3. The amount of federal monies that this state has received pursuant to the refugee resettlement program.
C. On or before December 1, 2016, the auditor general shall submit copies of the special audit to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.
D. This section is repealed from and after September 30, 2017.
