AN ACT

 

amending Title 41, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-108; amending Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-3019.06; relating to film production.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 41, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-108, to read:

START_STATUTE41-108.  Arizona film commission; fund

A.  The Arizona film commission is established consisting of the following members:

1.  One member who is appointed by the governor and who shall serve as the state film commissioner.

2.  Two public members appointed by a film production association in this state.

B.  The commission shall:

1.  Promote film and media production in this state.

2.  Coordinate with other agencies to assist the film and media production industry in all categories of production.

C.  The Arizona film commission fund is established consisting of private grants, gifts, contributions and devises to assist in carrying out the PURPOSES of this section. The Commission shall administer the fund.  Monies in the fund are CONTINUOUSLY appropriated.

D.  The commission shall be completely self funded and may conduct fund‑raising activities.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3019.06, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3019.06.  Arizona film commission; termination July 1, 2019

A.  The Arizona film commission terminates on July 1, 2019.

B.  Section 41‑108 is repealed on January 1, 2020. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41‑2955, subsection E, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature establishes the Arizona film commission to promote film and media production in this state.
