An Act
repealing sections 41-3024.08 and 41-3024.09, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-3032.08; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-3032.09; relating to historical societies.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Repeal
Sections 41-3024.08 and 41-3024.09, Arizona Revised Statutes, are repealed.
Sec. 2. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3032.08, to read:
41-3032.08. Arizona historical society; termination July 1, 2032
A. The Arizona historical society terminates on July 1, 2032.
B. Title 41, chapter 4.1, article 1 and this section are repealed on January 1, 2033.
Sec. 3. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3032.09, to read:
41-3032.09. Prescott historical society of Arizona; termination July 1, 2032
A. The Prescott historical society of Arizona terminates on July 1, 2032.
B. Title 41, chapter 4.1, article 2 and this section are repealed on January 1, 2033.
Sec. 4. Purpose
Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona historical society to purchase, receive, hold, lease and sell property for the benefit of this state and the use of the society.
Sec. 5. Purpose
Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Prescott historical society of Arizona in order to purchase, receive, hold, lease and sell property for the benefit of this state and the use of the society.
Sec. 6. Retroactivity
Sections 1, 2 and 3 of this act are effective retroactively to from and after July 1, 2024.
