AN ACT
amending Title 41, chapter 32, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-3509; relating to government information technology.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 32, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3509, to read:
41-3509. Software development; definition
A. A budget unit, or a private entity with funding, specifications and oversight from a budget unit, may produce government off-the-shelf software and provide the government off-the-shelf software to other budget units at no cost or with no warranty.
B. For the purposes of this section, "government off-the-shelf software" means software that is developed for a budget unit for one purpose and that is later reused by another budget unit or integrated into a new government system or application.
