AN ACT
Providing for a report from the department of child safety on complex trauma and adoptive child danger.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Department of child safety; report
On or before December 31, 2020, the department of child safety and the Arizona health care cost containment system shall report to the chairperson of the house of representatives health and human services committee and the chairperson of the senate health and human services committee on all of the following:
1. System improvements for children who are adopted out of foster care with complex trauma that results in dangerous behaviors.
2. An evaluation, including outcome data, of programs and services that are offered by other states to address complex trauma.
3. Mechanisms within the department for suspending parental rights when the adoptive child is a danger to the family as corroborated by law enforcement while maintaining the goal of permanency as required by federal law or other alternatives to terminating parental rights.
