An Act
amending title 16, chapter 4, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-410.01; relating to conduct of elections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 16, chapter 4, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-410.01, to read:
16-410.01. Hand counting; machine tabulation prohibited
NOTWITHSTANDING any other law, for each city, town and county election in this state, all votes shall be tabulated by hand. A city, town or county shall not use a tabulating machine to count votes.
Sec. 2. Conforming legislation
The legislative council staff shall prepare proposed legislation conforming the Arizona Revised Statutes to the provisions of this act for consideration in the fifty-sixth legislature, second regular session.
