AN ACT
appropriating monies to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; department of education; additional assistance for gifted education programs; administration; exemption
A. The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the department of education to be allocated in the following amounts for the following purposes:
1. $4,700,000 for additional assistance for gifted education programs pursuant to section 15‑779.03, Arizona Revised Statutes.
2. $300,000 to be used by the department of education to administer additional assistance for gifted education programs pursuant to section 15‑779.03, Arizona Revised Statutes.
B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
