Amending title 41, chapter 11, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-1609.07; relating to private prisons.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 41, chapter 11, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-1609.07, to read:

START_STATUTE41-1609.07.  Private prison contractors; public records

A private contractor that contracts with a governmental entity to provide detention or incarceration services for offenders in this state shall make public, on request, all records relating to the contractor's costs, operations, staff and inmates to the same extent that is required of state, county or municipally operated prisons or jails. END_STATUTE
