HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AMENDMENTS TO S.B. 1440
(Reference to Senate engrossed bill)
Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:
"Section. 1. Appropriation; department of water resources; modeling
and outreach positions; report; intent
A. The sum of $740,000 and 6.0 FTE positions are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2019-2020 to the department of water resources for personal services and employee-related expenditures. Of the amount appropriated in this subsection, the department of water resources shall allocate:
1. $200,000 to award a contract to outsource the department's document digitization.
2. $300,000 for personal services and employee-related expenditures for two groundwater flow modelers.
3. $240,000 for personal services and employee-related expenditures for four geographic information system and outreach staff members.
B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
C. On or before December 31, 2020, the department of water resources shall submit a report to the governor, speaker of the house of representatives and president of the senate on the expenditures of the appropriation made in subsection A of this section.
D. The legislature intends to appropriate monies for personal services and employee related expenditures in a line item in the appropriation to the department of water resources in the general appropriations act for fiscal year 2019-2020."
