FISCAL NOTE

Senate Bill 8 as introduced proposes a Constitutional Amendment, which if ratified, would prohibit the use of state and local public resources as well as appointed state and local personnel, and elected officials, officers, employees and agents of the state, or political subdivision of this state, when acting in an official capacity, to enforce any executive order issued by the President of the United States that becomes effective after January 1, 2021, that would limit the ownership, use, or possession of firearms, ammunition, or firearm accessories by law-abiding residents of the state.

Further, this amendment could increase the proclamation expenses of the Governor, paid from the State General Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
