FISCAL NOTE
House Bill 285 (Act 2022-126) as enacted extends the current supplemental privilege assessment, the secondary supplemental privilege assessment, and the monthly surcharge on nursing home beds that will expire on August 31, 2022 to August 31, 2025. In fiscal year 2021, after deducting the costs of collection, the nursing home bed taxes generated $119,216,142 for the Alabama Medicaid Agency. The Alabama Medicaid Agency estimates $119 million to be collected for Fiscal Year 2022 from these assessments.
