FISCAL NOTE
House Bill 285 as introduced extends the current supplemental privilege assessment, the secondary supplemental privilege assessment, and the monthly surcharge on nursing home beds that would have expired August 31, 2022 to August 31, 2025. In fiscal year 2021, after cost and collections, the nursing home bed taxes generated $119,216,142 to the Alabama Medicaid Agency. The Alabama Medicaid Agency estimates $119 million to be collected for Fiscal Year 2022 from these assessments.
