FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 130 as passed the House of Representatives enumerates the crimes that may result in bail being denied to a defendant. In addition, this bill requires a pretrial detention hearing to be held immediately upon the defendant’s first appearance before the court.

This bill could increase the obligations of local jails, by an undetermined amount, dependent upon the number of individuals charged with crimes and denied bail by a judge.
