FISCAL NOTE

House Bill 110 as amended and reported by the Committee on Ways and Means General Fund requires the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) to be (1) responsible for health care costs of parole and probation violators housed in county jails and (2) reimburse county jails for housing parolees and probationers at a rate of $20 per day

These provisions would increase the obligations of the Alabama Department of Corrections by an undetermined amount dependent upon the number of parolees and probationers in the custody of a consenting county jail, and of those the number requiring health care and the cost to provide the same.

Further, the provisions of this bill could increase the obligations of the county liability self-insurance fund, by an undetermined amount, dependent upon the number of claims paid due to the expanded liability coverage permitted by this bill.
