WHEREAS, Serenity Rayne Hawley, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, and member of the Blacksburg community, died on November 7, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Serenity Hawley was a student at Blacksburg High School, where she worked hard at her studies and made an impact on the community as vice president of member recruitment for the school's chapter of DECA, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Serenity Hawley was a treasured employee at Your Pie restaurant in Blacksburg, providing a bright spot in many people's days through her warm and genial nature; and
WHEREAS, guided by her faith, Serenity Hawley enjoyed worship and fellowship with her community as a member of Young Life; and
WHEREAS, Serenity Hawley will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her mother, Heather; her father and stepmother, John and Katherine; her siblings, Trinity, Harmony, John II, and Zachary; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Serenity Rayne Hawley, a cherished member of the Blacksburg community whose kind and generous spirit touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Serenity Rayne Hawley as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for her memory.
