WHEREAS, Reginal Clyde Church of Norfolk, a veteran, a man of faith, and a person whose family played a central role in his life, passed away on June 10, 2011; and WHEREAS, a native of Norfolk, Reginal Church, who was affectionately known as "Bubba" to his family and friends, lived a long and productive life and raised two daughters; and WHEREAS, Reginal Church was a strong Christian and Elder in his church; his daughter, Thalia, continued on that path of faith by becoming a minister; and WHEREAS, a military veteran, Reginal Church's allegiance to protecting and serving the United States was strong and enduring; he recognized how crucial it was to defend his country as he lived in one of the nation's centers of military readiness; and WHEREAS, Reginal Church leaves to remember him his wife, Savannah; his daughters, Thalia and Patricia; and he also is survived by his sisters, Jacqueline, Thalia, and Peggie; two sisters-in-law; and many other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of military veteran, church elder, and dedicated husband and father, Reginal Clyde Church; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Reginal Clyde Church as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory. |
