SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 110
Commending the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

WHEREAS, since 1924, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce has strengthened the business and economic environment for those who live, work, and do business in Arlington County; and

WHEREAS, in that time, the Arlington Chamber has developed a membership of more than 700 members spanning businesses of all sizes, including more than 100 nonprofit organizations; and

WHEREAS, the Arlington Chamber serves as a catalyst for businesses, filling crucial needs in the Arlington community through programs, such as its Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, nonprofit forum, and Job Shadow Day for Arlington high school students; and

WHEREAS, the Arlington Chamber provides educational resources to thousands of employers and employees, assisting them with successfully operating their businesses; and

WHEREAS, the Arlington Chamber connects thousands of businesspeople with clients, customers, donors, and vendors through numerous events and programs; and

WHEREAS, the Arlington Chamber serves as the voice for Arlington businesses and organizations in government and advocacy matters both at the local and state level, advocating for businesses collectively as well as supporting individual member businesses; and

WHEREAS, the Arlington Chamber tirelessly supported and advocated for businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering business resources and timely business updates and virtual events for the benefit of its membership and the broader business community; and

WHEREAS, for the past 100 years, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce has been a vital part of what makes Arlington County a wonderful place to live, work, and conduct business; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Arlington Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Arlington Chamber of Commerce as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its history and contributions to the Commonwealth.
