A BILL to direct the Board of Education to expand the scope of eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy Program to certain foster parents.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Board of Education shall amend its regulations in 8VAC20-790-20 to expand the scope of eligibility to apply for the Child Care Subsidy Program to any foster parent of a child placed in the foster parent's home by a licensed or duly authorized child-placing agency if, at the time of eligibility determination or redetermination, the child for whom the foster parent is applying to the Child Care Subsidy Program (i) meets the criteria for eligibility set out in subsection A of 8VAC20-790-20 or (ii) is between the ages of 13 and 17 but otherwise meets the criteria for eligibility set out in subsection A of 8VAC20-790-20 provided, however, that there is documented evidence that such child between the ages of 13 and 17 has exhibited tendencies toward self-harm or harm to others.
