Celebrating the life of Raymond Pegram DuVal.

WHEREAS, Raymond Pegram DuVal, a retired soldier and respected entrepreneur from Newport News, passed away on September 24, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Raymond DuVal led a long and upstanding life placing the highest values on family, community, and country; and

WHEREAS, a true American patriot, Raymond DuVal retired from the U.S. Army after a career of 24 years of faithful service to his country; and

WHEREAS, with an entrepreneur's spirit, Raymond DuVal launched the independent company DuVal Associates, Inc. Realtors and established himself as a hard-working real estate broker in his community; and

WHEREAS, a faithful member of the Denbigh Baptist Church, Raymond DuVal enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship as an active member of the congregation; and

WHEREAS, Raymond DuVal was also a devoted member of the Gideons International, where he embraced the tenants of Bible distribution and evangelism; and

WHEREAS, Raymond DuVal was a dedicated family man who took great pride in his four sons, Chuck, Wendall, Robin, and Barry and enjoyed spending time with his 11 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Raymond DuVal will be fondly remembered by his wife of more than 56 years, Ann, and his many family members, friends, and neighbors as a man of principle; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness and express its deep sympathy to the family of Raymond Pegram DuVal, retired soldier and respected entrepreneur; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Raymond Pegram DuVal as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
