HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 56
Commending Brenda Payne.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 29, 2016

WHEREAS, Brenda Payne, a pillar of the Marshall community and a devoted servant to her fellow residents, was named a 2015 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year; and

WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Citizen of the Year award honors individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their fellow Fauquier County residents or the county as a whole; Brenda Payne was nominated by Marshall District Supervisor Peter Schwartz; and

WHEREAS, as the writer of the Marshall Towns and Villages column for the Fauquier Times-Democrat, Brenda Payne helps keep residents informed about local events and opportunities; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Payne also organizes the annual Marshall Christmas Parade, a beloved local tradition incorporating many members of the community through marching band performances and festive floats; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Payne and her husband, Eddie, are deeply involved in running monthly fundraising breakfasts to benefit the area's hardworking firefighters, whose service and sacrifices help ensure the safety of the county's residents; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Brenda Payne hereby be commended on being named a 2015 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Brenda Payne as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to the Fauquier County community.
