WHEREAS, Joseph Stribling, a dedicated first responder with the Lois Volunteer Fire Department, was named a 2015 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year; and WHEREAS, the Fauquier County Citizen of the Year award honors individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their fellow Fauquier County residents or the county as a whole; Joseph Stribling was nominated by Lee District Supervisor Chester Stribling; and WHEREAS, Joseph Stribling was working at Stribling Service Center in August 2015, when Chester Stribling, his uncle, collapsed and stopped breathing; he responded quickly and decisively to help save the man's life; and WHEREAS, Joseph Stribling began cardiopulmonary resuscitation and continued to assist with the situation after a local sheriff's deputy retrieved an automated external defibrillator from his car and used it to revive Chester Stribling; and WHEREAS, Joseph Stribling is an exemplar of the dedication, professionalism, and care for his fellow members of the community displayed by first responders throughout the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Joseph Stribling hereby be commended on being named a 2015 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joseph Stribling as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to the Fauquier County community. |
