HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 516
Celebrating the life of Gladys Tuggle Kestner.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 11, 2018

 

WHEREAS, Gladys Tuggle Kestner, a beloved member of the Saltville community, died on March 30, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Kestner was born in Mercer County, West Virginia, to the late Lewis and Dixie Tuggle; she later relocated to Virginia and spent most of her life in Washington County; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Kestner made her career supporting the youth of the community as the longtime secretary of Hayters Gap Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, Gladys Kestner enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community at Brumley Gap United Methodist Church, where she had the distinction of being the oldest active member; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Silas, and two daughters, Wilma and Cathy, Gladys Kestner will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her daughters, Judy and Fay, and their families; her son-in-law, George, and his family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Gladys Tuggle Kestner; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Gladys Tuggle Kestner as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
