HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 501
Commending Doug Miller.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, April 3, 2013

WHEREAS, Doug Miller has faithfully served the residents of Washington County as an officer of election for 42 years; and

WHEREAS, a respected business and community leader, Doug Miller established Miller Construction Company, which is now owned and operated by his sons and known as Miller and Miller Construction Company; and

WHEREAS, driven by a strong sense of civic duty, Doug Miller became an officer of election in 1971 and has been a familiar face at the polls for more than four decades; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated public servant, Doug Miller has played a pivotal role in the fair and orderly administration of elections in Washington County; and

WHEREAS, a longtime member of Mary's Chapel Union Church, Doug Miller has served in various roles within the church over the years and enjoyed fellowship and worship with his neighbors and friends; and

WHEREAS, Doug Miller, now 83 years of age, continues to farm and enjoys spending time with his wife of 61 years and their family, who have supported him in all of his endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Doug Miller has been an integral part of the election process in Washington County and serves as an inspiring role model for all; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Doug Miller hereby be commended for his 42 years of distinguished service as an officer of election for Washington County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Doug Miller as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration and gratitude for his dedicated civic service.
