Commending Terri Allard.

WHEREAS, Terri Allard, a local television host and country-folk musician, has made significant contributions to the arts and culture of Charlottesville over many years; and

WHEREAS, since 2007, Terri Allard has been the host of the VPM Media television talk show "Charlottesville Inside-Out," an award-winning program on WHTJ-TV that showcases a wide range of topics that are of interest to the Charlottesville community; and

WHEREAS, Terri Allard is an accomplished country and folk singer-songwriter who since the early 1990s has produced five albums, including her most recent album, Makes No Sense, all of which shed light on and explore universal themes of love and loss with uncommon grace and soul; and

WHEREAS, Terri Allard regularly performs her blend of country-folk in theaters, coffeehouses, and festivals throughout the United States, bringing attention and pride to the Charlottesville area; and

WHEREAS, Terri Allard has broadened her musical endeavors by forming the Terri Allard Jazz Quartet, drawing in new audiences and fans; and

WHEREAS, Terri Allard's accomplishments as a musician earned her a Washington Area Music Award for Best Female Country Vocalist; and

WHEREAS, Terri Allard's endeavors as a television host and musician have added a meaningful thread to the cultural fabric of Charlottesville and the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Terri Allard hereby be commended for her achievements as a television host and musician; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Terri Allard as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to the Commonwealth.
