WHEREAS, Sue Sadler, an esteemed public servant and active and engaged member of the James City County community, retired from the James City County Board of Supervisors in 2023; and
WHEREAS, for eight years, Sue Sadler proudly and faithfully served her constituents as the Stonehouse District representative on the James City County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of her election to the James City County Board of Supervisors, Sue Sadler also served on the James City County Service Authority, including four years as chair, contributing greatly to the management of the locality's water and wastewater services; and
WHEREAS, Sue Sadler's leadership proved invaluable during the COVID-19 pandemic as she helped guide the locality through the unprecedented public health crisis; and
WHEREAS, Sue Sadler is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who in retirement will have more opportunities to spend quality time with her husband, Keith; her daughter, Lauren; and her grandchildren, Evan and Connor; and
WHEREAS, with great strength and determination, Sue Sadler has helped to make James City County a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Sue Sadler hereby be commended on the occasion of her retirement from the James City County Board of Supervisors; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sue Sadler as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her legacy of service and best wishes in her future endeavors.
