Commending James Flinchum.

WHEREAS, James Flinchum, an honorable World War II veteran and treasured member of the Christiansburg community, celebrated his 100th birthday in 2023; and

WHEREAS, James Flinchum served his country with great courage and valor during World War II; he served as an aviation engineer for two years and was later stationed in England and served across Europe after D-Day; and

WHEREAS, James Flinchum's remarkable life has spanned from the Great Depression and World War II to the Moon landing and the dawn of the Internet era; and

WHEREAS, James Flinchum's long and fulfilling life serves as an inspiration to all who know him, encouraging many to live well and give their best each and every day; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That James Flinchum, a hometown hero of Christiansburg and member of the Greatest Generation, hereby be commended on the occasion of his 100th birthday; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to James Flinchum as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his service and congratulations for reaching this extraordinary milestone.
