Commending Michael Key.

WHEREAS, Michael Key, a well-known and hardworking member of the Ashland community, retires as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service on January 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Key diligently served the residents and businesses of Ashland for 34 years, including 32 years on the same Ashland postal route; and

WHEREAS, a reliable and respected servant to the public, Michael Key is a beloved member of the community, known for his affable nature and commitment to ensuring that parcels arrived at their intended destination safely and efficiently; and

WHEREAS, in addition to the mail, Michael Key often carried local news of the day to the people on his route, and he found great joy in establishing trust and friendships along the way; and

WHEREAS, after his well-earned retirement, Michael Key looks forward to finding new opportunities to serve the community; and

WHEREAS, friends, family, and colleagues will commemorate Michael Key's accomplishments in service to the residents of Ashland at a party on January 29, 2015; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Michael Key on the occasion of his retirement as a mail carrier; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Michael Key as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his numerous contributions to the Ashland community.
