HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 716 Celebrating the life of the Honorable Thomas H. Tullidge.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 30, 2015 Agreed to by the Senate, February 5, 2015

WHEREAS, the Honorable Thomas H. Tullidge, a respected former judge of the 25th Judicial District of Virginia, died on December 27, 2014; and

WHEREAS, a native of Staunton, Thomas Tullidge attended Staunton Military Academy and the United States Military Academy; he served his country in the United States Army, then earned a law degree from the University of Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Tullidge practiced law in Staunton before becoming a judge of the 25th Judicial District of Virginia; he presided over juvenile and domestic relations district courts in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County with great fairness and wisdom; and

WHEREAS, for over a decade, Thomas Tullidge resided on and operated a dairy farm in Middlebrook; he also rode quarter horses competitively and served as president of the Virginia Angus Association; and

WHEREAS, after his well-earned retirement, Thomas Tullidge and his wife, Florence, moved to Tappahannock; and

WHEREAS, a devout man, Thomas Tullidge enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a member of First Presbyterian Church in Staunton, Bethel Presbyterian Church in Middlebrook, and Milden Presbyterian Church in Sharps; and

WHEREAS, a man of great integrity, Thomas Tullidge served the Commonwealth with the utmost professionalism, dedication, and distinction; and

WHEREAS, predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Florence, Thomas Tullidge will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Agnes, Anne, and Thomas, Jr., and their families and numerous other family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of the Honorable Thomas H. Tullidge; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of the Honorable Thomas H. Tullidge as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
