HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 532
Celebrating the life of Maynard Randolph Reynolds.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 9, 2016
Agreed to by the Senate, March 10, 2016

WHEREAS, Maynard Randolph Reynolds, a patriotic veteran, respected public servant, and hardworking businessman in Rockbridge County, died on February 21, 2016; and

WHEREAS, a native of Rockbridge County, Maynard Reynolds honorably served the nation as a member of the United States Army for two years during the Korean War and served in the United States Army Reserve for eight years; and

WHEREAS, after returning to Rockbridge County, Maynard Reynolds owned and operated Reynolds Gulf Station in Glasgow for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, desirous to be of further service to the community, Maynard Reynolds ran for and was elected to the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors, where he represented the residents of the Natural Bridge District for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, a man who lived his faith through his actions, Maynard Reynolds enjoyed fellowship and worship with the community as a member and deacon of Glasgow Baptist Church; he also worked to enhance the community as a member of AARP and the local Ruritan Club; and

WHEREAS, Maynard Reynolds will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his devoted wife of 66 years, Virginia; children, Janice and Kelly, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Maynard Randolph Reynolds, a veteran, public servant, and entrepreneur who made many contributions to the Rockbridge County community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Maynard Randolph Reynolds as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
