WHEREAS, Kieran Sharpe has admirably and tirelessly served the people of Falls Church in many elected and volunteer positions for 26 years, including serving on the Falls Church City School Board since 1998; and WHEREAS, Kieran Sharpe, who is an attorney, focused on continuing to improve the City of Falls Church's highly regarded schools, encouraging the community to consider extending the school year, and expanding school facilities to keep pace with increased enrollment and students' needs and aspirations; and WHEREAS, Kieran Sharpe made many valued contributions as a member of the Falls Church City School Board; he served on the Extended Day Care Advisory Board and was a member of the Falls Church Education Foundation; and WHEREAS, additionally, other organizations that have benefited from Kieran Sharpe's leadership and service are the Fairfax Partnership for Youth, the Elementary PTA Board, and the George Mason High School Athletic Boosters; and WHEREAS, throughout his tenure on the Falls Church City School Board, Kieran Sharpe strove to do what was in the best interests of the students and staff and support the school systems' efforts to provide a world-class education; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Kieran Sharpe for his dedication and service as a member of the Falls Church City School Board; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kieran Sharpe as an expression of the General Assembly's respect and admiration for his many contributions to the City of Falls Church and the Commonwealth. |
