Commending the Blacksburg High School golf team.

WHEREAS, the Blacksburg High School golf team won the Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship at Heritage Oaks Golf Club in Harrisonburg on October 14, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Blacksburg High School Bruins defeated the Monacan High School Chiefs of Chesterfield County by 12 strokes to bring home the program's fourth consecutive state championship title at the Class 4 level and its eighth state championship title overall; and
WHEREAS, the Blacksburg Bruins' victory was made possible by outstanding performances from all of its golfers, including senior Jake Albert, who was the runner-up for the Virginia High School League Class 4 individual title for the third year in a row following his state championship individual title in 2021; and
WHEREAS, the success of the Blacksburg Bruins is the result of the hard work and determination of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unflagging support of their families and the entire Blacksburg High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Blacksburg High School golf team for winning the 2024 Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Blacksburg High School golf team as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievement.
