HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 206
Commending Gerald W. Garber.

WHEREAS, Gerald W. Garber ably served Augusta County and its residents as the Middle River Magisterial District Supervisor on the Augusta County Board of Supervisors from 2008 through 2011; and

WHEREAS, a well-known businessman in the community, Gerald Garber had previously been a member of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors from 1988 to 1991; he served as vice-chair in 2009 and as chair in 1990 and again in 2010; and

WHEREAS, a respected leader, Gerald Garber effectively represented Augusta County on local and regional boards, committees, and commissions as he fulfilled his duties with great integrity, professionalism, and enthusiasm; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Garber generously dedicated his time and energies to ensuring the efficient and effective operation of local government, responding to residents' needs, and working cooperatively with fellow supervisors, county staff, and the county administrator; and

WHEREAS, a longtime community supporter who has worked diligently to enhance the quality of life for all Augusta County residents, Gerald Garber also serves as the chair of the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport Commission and previously served on the boards of local businesses and as president of the Weyers Cave Ruritan Club; and

WHEREAS, dedicated to the well-being and prosperity of Augusta County and its residents, Gerald Garber worked diligently to continue to make Augusta County a premier place to live, work, and visit; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Gerald W. Garber for his outstanding service and devotion to his fellow residents during his service on the Augusta County Board of Supervisors; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Gerald W. Garber as an expression of the General Assembly's appreciation and gratitude for his public service.
