WHEREAS, for 30 years, Augusta Health in Fishersville has combined personalized service with state-of-the-art technology and a wealth of medical expertise to provide exceptional care to the residents of the Shenandoah Valley; and
WHEREAS, established in 1994, Augusta Health serves communities in Augusta County, Staunton, Waynesboro, and the surrounding region; and
WHEREAS, as of 2022, Augusta Health maintained 255 beds, with 2,450 total employees, 225 active medical staff, and dozens of volunteers ensuring that patients and their families receive high-quality, compassionate care; and
WHEREAS, in 2022, Augusta Health recorded 59,573 emergency visits, admitted 10,324 patients, delivered 892 babies, and cared for 549 new cancer patients; Augusta Medical Group clinics also recorded hundreds of thousands of outpatient visits, as well as more than 60,000 urgent care visits; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Augusta Health offers patients convenient access to the knowledge and resources of the top hospital in the nation; physicians at Augusta Health can use the Mayo Clinic's latest research and recommendations to develop the best treatment plan for each patient or seek expertise on rare or complex conditions; and
WHEREAS, Augusta Health is highly accredited and has earned numerous awards and accolades for its innovative programs and commitment to excellence; and
WHEREAS, Augusta Health has developed strong partnerships with local businesses and organizations to create outreach programs that promote a healthy community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Augusta Health on the occasion of its 30th anniversary in 2024; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Augusta Health as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the hospital's legacy of outstanding service to the residents of the Shenandoah Valley.
