A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 7 of Title 24.2 a section numbered 24.2-714, relating to absentee voting; reimbursement of costs.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 7 of Title 24.2 a section numbered 24.2-714 as follows:

§24.2-714. Cost of absentee voting.

The cost of conducting absentee voting in accordance with the provisions of this chapter shall be paid by the counties and cities. The General Assembly shall establish a reimbursement plan in the general appropriation act and each county and city shall be fully reimbursed annually in accordance with the plan for the cost of conducting absentee voting in the locality.
