HOUSE BILL NO. 2418 Offered January 18, 2011 A BILL to require the imposition and collection of a surcharge for certain passengers of the Virginia Railway Express. ---------- Patron-- Pollard ---------- Referred to Committee on Transportation ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. In addition to any other fares, taxes, or other charges imposed on and collected from passengers using the Virginia Railway Express, a boarding surcharge of $1 per trip per person shall be imposed on and collected from passengers boarding the Virginia Railway Express in the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Proceeds of such surcharge shall be paid quarterly to the Northern Neck Planning District Commission and used by the Commission exclusively for economic development projects in the Northern Neck Planning District.
