A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 33 of Title 2.2 a section numbered 2.2-3323, relating to state holidays and other special days; April 13 to honor coal miners in Virginia.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 33 of Title 2.2 a section numbered 2.2-3323 as follows:

§2.2-3323. Day of recognition for coal miners in Virginia.

The thirteenth day of April of each year shall be designated as a day of recognition for coal miners in Virginia to acknowledge the contributions of and pay tribute to the hardworking women and men  who work, and sometimes die, in the coal mines of the Commonwealth.
