A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 60.2-616.1, relating to unemployment benefits based on performing with a symphony orchestra.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 60.2-616.1 as follows:

§60.2-616.1. Benefits based on performing with a symphony orchestra.

Benefits based on services, substantially all of which consist of performing with a symphony orchestra, or training or preparing to so perform, shall not be paid to any individual for any week of unemployment that commences during the period between two successive orchestra seasons or similar periods, if such individual performed such services in the first of such seasons or similar periods and there is a reasonable assurance that such individual will perform such services in the later of such seasons or similar periods.
