SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 96
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Rachel Littlejohn-Diebel
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Beeville in mourning the loss of the Honorable Rachel
  Littlejohn-Diebel, who died December 24, 2014, at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished lady was born on June 14, 1922,
  in Wellingborough, England; she began studying medicine at
  Cambridge University, and she left school to work for the British
  Military Intelligence during World War II; and
         WHEREAS, She married Lacy Littlejohn in 1946, and they soon
  moved to Texas to attend Baylor Law School; after earning their
  degrees, they settled in Beeville with their two children, and
  Mrs. Littlejohn did legal work in the community before becoming a
  high school mathematics instructor; and
         WHEREAS, She was elected to the bench for the 156th
  District Court in 1974 and presided over the court until her
  retirement in 1994; during her tenure, she became a Life Fellow
  of the Texas Bar Foundation; her husband passed away in 1986; and
         WHEREAS, She married Edwin Diebel in 1999, with whom she
  shared immeasurable happiness; she was a loving wife, mother, and
  grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will long be
  cherished by all who were privileged to share in her life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of the Honorable Rachel Littlejohn-Diebel; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Rachel Littlejohn-Diebel.
