SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 96
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Pat Murphy, who is retiring after 25 years of outstanding
  service with the City of Austin; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Murphy began his career with the city in 1985
  as a landscape architect associate with the Environmental and
  Conservation Services Department; he has risen through the ranks
  to hold a variety of positions, including environmental quality
  specialist, environmental services manager, and division manager,
  and he is retiring as assistant director and environmental officer
  of the Watershed Protection and Development Review Department;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Murphy has been noted
  for his superior skills and expertise; talented and resourceful,
  he has handled his many responsibilities with great efficiency
  and dedication; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and
  admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the City of Austin's
  Watershed Protection and Development Review Department will be
  greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Pat Murphy on his exceptional
  service to the City of Austin over the course of his career and
  extend to him best wishes for all his future endeavors; and, be it
  further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
