| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Danyahel Norris, who is graduating from the first | ||
| fellowship class of New Leaders Council--Houston; and | ||
| WHEREAS, New Leaders Council--Houston is a nonprofit, | ||
| nonpartisan organization that is training a new generation of | ||
| progressives to work together in the public and private sectors | ||
| and to take leadership roles in the promotion of a strong | ||
| democracy, social and economic justice, and equal opportunity; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Danyahel Norris has devoted substantial time and | ||
| resources to honing his leadership skills; he has learned from | ||
| his peers and from experts, and he has developed a deeper | ||
| understanding of progressive values; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He is an actively engaged member of his community, | ||
| and he has demonstrated a deep commitment to building a stronger | ||
| progressive network in order to craft a better future for Texas; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Danyahel Norris on his dedication to | ||
| the betterment of his community and state and extend to him | ||
| congratulations and best wishes for much success in the future as | ||
| a Founding Fellow of New Leaders Council--Houston; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
