SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 89
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Wesley J. Rice
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Sergeant Wesley
  J. Rice, who died January 14, 2011, at the age of 27; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Rice was dedicated to his service with
  the United States Marine Corps; an exemplary soldier, Sergeant
  Rice had served two tours of duty in Iraq and had been awarded a
  Combat Action Ribbon; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Rice served his country with valor and
  steadfast patriotism, and he was respected for his high standards
  and principles; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his integrity and generous spirit,
  Wesley Rice was a valued member of the United States Marine Corps
  and of his community, and he will be greatly missed by all who
  were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family and friends of Sergeant Wesley J. Rice; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
  tribute to his life and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
  do so in memory of Sergeant Wesley J. Rice.
